( you're suffocating me )

books out, hair down, ipod plugged in, music loud enough to cause even a partially deaf person to flinch.. harley was not in a good mood. hazel eyes glared around the room from underneath the fringe of black, streaked hair, daring people to just try talking to her. harley would not be held responsible for her actions if someone pissed her off. harley was incredibly easy to piss off, and everyone knew it, including the teachers, which was why harley had her own table at the back of the room, away from everyone else. the fact that they were taking precautions was enough to piss harley off even more. she didn't like being treated as though she were volatile, despite the fact that she knew she was. she didn't enjoy the fact that she had to behave herself during school hours, she couldn't become the predator that she knew she was and take what she wanted, which was generally blood. oh god, blood.
harley switched songs quickly, agitatedly, attempting to distract herself. she was sat in a room full of humans. food. cattle. she couldn't be expected to just sit here and not want them. she was a member of the black court, she was part of one of the most dangerous courts at the school - possibly the most dangerous court at the school. she was still flicking through her songs, barely even aware of the noise blaring in her ears. she didn't even know what song was playing. she needed to get her mind off the fact that she was in a room filled with humans. she needed to remember that she couldn't attack them, not with the teacher there watching her every move. she hated that the teachers took it upon themselves to monitor her, to try and control her. harley was not something who could be controlled. she was a loose canon. something to be feared. something to be wary of going near. they shouldn't be trying to fix her. to make her less volatile.
she felt so much resentment towards members of other courts, and towards humans themselves. they had everything that harley had lost. the ability to procreate. to eat. to drink. to do everything that harley couldn't. she was jealous, she knew it. everyone knew it. everyone knew how the black court members felt towards everyone else. it was an occupational hazard. harley lost herself sometimes, lost herself in the bloodlust. accidents happened, it wasn't harley's fault. she'd been told to control it, people had even offered training to prevent the members from killing everyone they bit, but harley hadn't attended. she preferred to teach herself. that involved some accidental deaths. it wasn't like anyone had really cared. she'd only picked off the nerds and the people nobody would miss. she closed her eyes tightly, the thought of bloodlust doing nothing to help her. she shook her ipod to shuffle the songs, and relaxed as one of her favourite songs came on, one that always managed to distract her, made her calm down.
she opened her eyes again, going right back to glaring at the people who were staring at her. some were mocking her, some were watching her fearfully, afraid that she was going to go for their throats. her math book was lying in front of her, equations finished long ago, checked and re-checked to within and inch of their lives. she'd even done more than what was required; that was how hopelessly bored she was. she wanted a human to play with, wanted to tease them and scare them so much that they turned into a quivering wreck before just begging her to bite them and let them go. her upper lip curled up into a snarl as she glared back at a human who was watching her, whispering to his companion out of the side of his mouth. he quickly turned away.
harley smirked.
